Autumn Francis posted a straight sets victory at third singles to give Haverford a 4-3 triumph over Upper Darby in the Central League.
Francis downed Upper Darby’s Emily Gian, 6-4, 6-4, to seal the victory. The Royals’ Braya Page topped the Fords’ Nelly O’Leary, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7) and 10-8. Page and O’Leary went to a pro set format in the third set because of the heat.
Marple Newtown 5, Springfield 2 >> Devon DiCampli, Rachel Hua and Eva Fay swept the singles in straight sets for the Tigers. Lily Clair and Annie Joyce (first doubles) and Emily Barber and Sophia Borgesi (fourth doubles) were the winners for the Cougars.
In the Del Val League:
Academy Park 5, Chester 0 >> Breanna Reid and Vickie Outland both won in straight sets at first and second singles to get the Knights (2-3, 2-0 league) back on the winning track.
In the Ches-Mont League:
Great Valley 7, Sun Valley 0 >> The visiting Patriots won six of the seven matches in straight sets. Madison Koons dropped a tough three-set decision at third singles for the Vanguards.
