Goalie Mackena Harley posted another shutout and Miranda Neill collected three goals and one assist to help Interboro claim the Del Val League field hockey title with a hard fought 5-0 triumph over Academy Park.
Harley made five saves, while Sarah Smith and Jules Wiseley chipped in with one goal each in a game where all the goals were scored in the second half.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Episcopal Academy 5, Agnes Irwin 1 >> Alexis Ventresca scored two goals and dished out one assist for the Churchwomen. Mia Garber added one goal and one assist. Kiley Gallagher and Olivia Corrato chippd in with one goal each.
Isabella Carlino converted a pass from Blake Stefan in the second period to get the Owls on the board.
Notre Dame 5, Springside Chestnut Hill 0 >> Saylor Milone had a hand in all five goals as the Irish rolled. Milone scored in each of the first three quarters. She also set up a goal by Reese Czajkowski in the first quarter and Aly Maguire’s second-quarter tally for ND (9-3, 4-1).
In the Central League:
Strath Haven 2, Springfield 1 >> Molly Pellegrini tallied twice off corners, both times on assists from Grace Kelly, to lift the Panthers over the Cougars.
Sophia DiMarcantonio had the lone goal for Springfield.
Haverford 5, Marple Newtown 0 >> Ella VanLuvender struck first for Haverford and then fed Victoria Madden to give the Fords a 2-0 lead in the first quarter. Reese Brennan, Emma Taylor and Margaret Yerger finished off the scoring. Maura Greek posted the shutout.
Maria Kaltsidis and Cassie Marchese shared the goalkeeping duties for the Tigers.
In nonleague action:
Ridley 6, Chichester 0 >> Krisata Geibler led the way for the Green Raiders with two goals. Abbie Venit, Ava DiGuglielmo, Alexa Naumovich and Grace Lord added one goal each. Maddie Gordon made one save to post the shutout.
Sacred Heart 2, Plumstead Christian 0 >> Cait Breslin assisted on both goals and Emily Schlegel, Meilyn Frank and Emily Farrell led a strong defensive effort the the Lions. Keira Horgan and Kathryn Gallagher tallied one goal each.
Boys Soccer
Toluleke Ajibawo scored four times as Penn Wood ran past Chichester, 6-1.
Khalifa Kanneh added a pair of goals for the Patriots, who got seven saves in goal from Daniel Ballah.
Ian Farnan’s first career goal was the only marker for the Eagles.

Episcopal Academy 1, Penn Charter 0 >> Alex Barrist buried a second-half penalty to earn the Churchmen the full spoils. Akira Heath denied both of the shots aimed as his net to post the clean sheet for the Churchmen (8-3-1, 2-1).

Ridley 1, Upper Darby 0 >> Josh Geddes’ goal and 12 saves from Chase Lamplugh led Ridley to the victory.
Strath Haven 4, Springfield 0 >> Ethan Birch scored a goal and an assist as the Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back. Nick Dignazio, Simon Muther and Jamie Lenart also scored. Charlie Shankweiler and Alex Verona made two saves each for the Panthers.
In the Bicentennial League:
Delco Christian 4, Phil-Mont Christian 0 >> Griffin Schmitt supplied the first two goals in a four-goal first-half outburst for the Knights. Max Cardone added a goal and an assist, and Jake Johnson also scored.
Girls Tennis
Cardinal O’Hara’s girls tennis team is one win away from another Catholic League championship.
No. 1 singles Samma Zahran and No. 3 Sophia Bora each were victorious in straight sets Tuesday as O’Hara defeated Archbishop Carroll, 4-1, in a semifinal playoff match.
The Lions will play Lansdale Catholic for the PCL title 11 a.m. Thursday at Legacy in Philadelphia. They are vying for the program’s eighth straight championship.
In doubles action, Jordan Graney and Kayleigh DellaVecchio and Sophia Carey and Melanie Jackson were successful for the Lions.
In District 1 Class 2A:
Lower Moreland 5, Delco Christian 0 >> The top-seeded Lions won four of the five matches in straight sets to win the district title and advance to the PIAA team tournament.
Ashley VanDixhoom put up a fight at third singles for the Knights before falling to LM’s Sarah Kideckel 7-6 (7-5), 4-5, 10-0.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Episcopal 7, Agnes Irwin 1 >> Ashley Kennedy, Kamaora Helton and Michelle Jiang were victorious in singles competition for the Churchwomen.
No. 1 doubles Maddy Mitchell and Maggie Dugert defeated Alex Lesko and Katherine Earnest 7-6, 6-1. Maggie Lo and Carter Yearley, Elizabeth Boruff and Izzy Rozes, and Stefania Calastri and Riya Mukherjee all won in straight sets for EA.
Springside Chestnut Hill 5, Notre Dame 2 >> The Irish’s Paige Holsten and Colleen Murtagh rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 10-6 win at No. 2 doubles.
Ella Abramson was 6-3, 6-0 winner at second singles for Notre Dame.
Volleyball
Hannah McGroary had the magic touch in Sun Valley’s 25-3, 25-1, 25-6 sweep over Coatesville.
McGroary served 24 straight points in the second set, eight of them for aces. Jenna Jones added 14 assists and Gianna Ellis pitched in with nine kills for the Vanguards.
In the Catholic League:
Cardinal O’Hara 3, Archbishop Ryan 0 >> The Lions continued their dominances in league play, improving to 8-0 in the Catholic League.
Jasmine Sullivan led the way with 11 kills, 10 assists, nine digs and 3 aces. Bridget McGuinn had eight kills and 11 digs, while Maggie Doogan contributed 6 kills. Sarah Kelly also excelled on offense with eight kills and five blocks. Kelly Garvey fueled the attack with 21 assists and eight digs.
