Thompson and Stipa power Marple Newtown

Linsley Thompson and Allison Stipa pulled out a straight sets victory at fourth doubles to give Marple Newtown a 4-3 Central League victory over Haverford.
Thompson and Stipa defeated Alyssa Cocco and Jessica Au, 6-2, 6-4, to secure the victory. Devin DiCampli (first singles), Rachel Hau (second singles), Emily Soe and Grace Thorn (first doubles) were the other winners for the Tigers.
Autumn Francis took a 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 victory at third singles to pace the Fords.
Elsewhere in the Central League:
Harriton 7, Penncrest 0 >> Sonia Groeneveld and Jolie Smith did not lose a game at second and third singles, respectively, for the Rams.
In nonleague action:
Upper Darby 4, Cardinal O’Hara 3 >> Brianna Laws and Paula Gongar downed Lauren Logue and Katherine Toll at third doubles, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, to secure the match for the Royals (10-8). Upper Darby won three of the four doubles matches.
Anna Marie Degnan won in three sets at first singles and Nina Ji took a straight sets win at third singles for O’Hara.
Academy Park 3, Bonner & Prendergast 2 >> Breanna Reid, Vickie Outland and Rajah Azor extended their singles winning streak to 14 matches.
Breanna Kerr and Ellen Cerrone and Emily Rockenbach and Maureen Callahan needed three sets each to sweep the doubles for the Pandas.
